What is FCASpays data

FCASpays data include 4 second causer pays, frequency indicator and mms data.  These data are;

restructured so that variable numbers

have been

transposed to column labels,
  • split into multiple tables for the four element types, those being Units (duids), System measurement point (e.g. NemSouth), Interconnector and Load.
  • ;

    1. expanded to include newly derived variables such as,
      1. trajectory: 4 second linear trajectory between dispatch interval energy targets,
      2. agc signal estimate:  the best estimate for agc signal sent to the unit, not that the control logic used to determine the actual agc signal is unique to each unit,
      3. basepoint:  4 second linear trajectory between the snapshot of scada output and generation target at the end of the dispatch interval,
      4. trajectory_ramp_mw_per_min:  the required ramp rate per minute in order to reach the generation target,
      5. utilisation: the sum of response divided by the enablement of a regulation service,
      6. effective_enablement:  the volume of regulation service available which is limited by AGC control logic,
      7. enablement and non-enablement factors:  for regulation FCAS contribution factor used to determine regulation cost recovery liabilitynote that these factors are sums whereas the published aggregated 28 day data are averages,
    2. normalised variables such as RaiseReg+Totalcleared to align with other variables such as generation,
    3. aggregate 5min variables including averages, standard deviations, maximums and minimums, etc
      1. e.g. maximum_participation_factor
    4. restructured so that variable numbers have been transposed to column labels,
    5. split into multiple tables for the four element types, those being Units (duids), System measurement point (e.g. NemSouth), Interconnector and Load.

    Every variable includes a detailed definition that you can inspect using the information icon included with every variable.

    Summary of FCASpays services

    FCASpays is a web service accessible that is best accessed via Chrome only

    The aim of FCASpays is to help you inspect improve dispatch performance by inspecting 4 second causer pays and frequency indicator data, and to help you maximise value in the FCAS markets; primarily the regulation FCAS markets.  FCASpays includes the following applications;

    Financial reports page

    Monitor the actual costs and revenue of providing regulation FCAS.  Shows a breakdown of actual regulation FCAS gross margin and reports on all FCAS revenue.   Now includes enablement factors used to determine regulation FCAS liabilities.

    Physical data page

    A visualisation tool to inspect 4 second causer pays data, includes our restructured tables and enhanced data fields such as a unit's Basepoint.

    New!

    Performance metrics page

    Actual regulation performance metrics published the following day so that you can quickly assess changes in unit performance and compare overall performance with other units and given different conditions.

    Market Information Page

    Provides information about the elements and variables such as unit capacity, fuel, fuel cost, FCAS services registered.

    SQLpad Page

    Write your own PostgresSQL queries to our 4 second causer pays data base.  Using web browsers there are no firewall or security issues.

    Bid Optimiser

    Offer Advisor - proof of concept is

    now

    available online!

    Generates bids using the objective to maximise value.  This includes co-optimising bids between regions and applying our algorithms that predict the utilisation of regulation services and price elasticity.

    Bid Benchmarking

    Shows the value created by Bid Optimiser by benchmarking actual gross margin against the gross margin that would have been gained with your original bid.  Also compares the predicted gross margin of these two scenarios

    Submit Offers for both 30 minute and 5 minute settlements.

    Both integrated and decoupled from the Offer Advisor.  Our offer system submits bids to AEMO in both 30 minute and 5 minute formats.
